Schanz & Pins
Schanz Screw is a metallic rod with pointed threads at one end and other end fashioned to fix into an attachment device. Schanz Screws are available in various types, lengths and diameters. Types: Self Tapping, Self-Drilling, Tapered Threaded. Schanz Pin is intended for use with an external fixation system.
Pins are the simplest type of orthopedic fixation devices. They are often used to hold together pieces of bone that are too small to be fixed with screws. In many cases, they are used in conjunction with other forms of internal fixation, but they can be used alone to treat fractures of small bones, such as those found in the hand or foot.
