Lag plate
A lag screw is used to compress fracture fragments. It is threaded into the opposite cortex, and slides through a hole in the near cortex. Tightening the screw presses the screw head against the near cortex, compressing the fracture fragments. Optimally, a lag screw should be perpendicular to the fracture plane. In Avisa Medical Innovators of East we designed a plate works similar to lag screw. It contains a hoke which is inserted to one side of the fracture, and a classic AO dynamic compression hole fixing and gliding the plate on the other side of the fracture. Fracture compression will be happened then.
